United states President Joseph Biden intends to host PM Narendra Modi for a state dinner in the middle of 2023. As the administration promotes initiatives and plans for an open & free Indo-Pacific to offset what it perceives as a growing threat presented by China, the formal state visit is a demonstration of the developing United states-India relations.

The state dinner is being planned in June by the White House. But the timing may change, according to the people knowledgeable.

In Sept, India will hosting the summit of the G20 leaders in New Delhi. Where the invasion of Ukraine by Russia will be one of the main subjects of conversation.
Russia President Putin, may or may not visit the event.

Indo-Pacific Strategy 2023

When the leaders of Australia, Japan, and Prime Minister modi meet in May in Australia for the Quad summit, Biden is also anticipate to meet PM Modi there.
